Academics

Elmwood Baptist Academy strives to maintain a high quality of education for all students. Students are challenged to excel in a wide variety of academic disciplines. Our curriculum uses a combination of several publishers – all of which are integrated with the truth of God’s word. In addition, teachers are highly trained in the individual subjects they teach. From each classroom to the state of the art computer lab Elmwood accomplishes its mission of training the next generation of students to be successful in whatever they may face.

At EBA, we believe that a strong education balanced with traditional moral standards is the prerequisite for success in business and life. Our dedicated teachers provide vital input into the lives of their students, helping them prepare for a lifetime. Whether preparing students for a job or helping them chart their way into higher education, EBA is deeply committed to providing quality preparation for the future. Each subject is taught from a Christian worldview so that the student learns to evaluate facts in the light of Biblical revelation.

EBA students have consistently scored well above the national norms on the Stanford Achievement Testing program.

We are building character, honesty, and integrity through our Biblical approach and academic excellence.

Elementary Academics

A child’s future academic success depends upon a strong foundation. The academic program in grades K-6 at EBA is focused on developing a firm foundation of basic skills as well as challenging students to achieve their best. Students receive instruction in Language, Reading, Vocabulary, Spelling, Writing, Handwriting, Math, Science, Bible, and Social Studies as well as Computers, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Curriculum published primarily by ABeka and Accelerated Christian Education is used. Teachers strive to meet the individual needs of each student through flexible grouping and continuous formative assessment.

Junior and Senior High Academics

As each student progresses in their education, EBA challenges students to achieve more. Junior and Senior High courses are designed to help students become high functioning and independent. A major part of education in a child’s life is the preparation for adulthood. Other schools lack in this development and students require much remediation upon entering college or the workforce. EBA students are prepared to tackle obstacles in life and strive to be the best that God has designed them to be.
